On December 14th of 2011, AWOLNATION released the video of their third hit single, ‘Not Your Fault.’ The music video depicts Aaron Bruno, the lead singer of AWOLNATION, with his band mates on a quest to save the girl of his dreams.
From a male perspective, Bruno led with an honest foot, which many males seem to have a problem with these days. A positive image, and promotion of female empowerment, gives the song an edge not usually seen in songs these days.
Currently, our media has experienced a decline in moral beliefs and values, leading to the desensitization of offensive language and actions. ‘Not Your Fault’ is a refreshing, male point-of-view that gives women comfort in knowing that behind a sea of unappreciative, ignorant boyfriends, there are still those few who can admit when it is their fault.
